Made in Brazil between 1975 and the 1990s, the Seneca II is an original design by Piper Aircraft.

The Piper Seneca is a small-size piston-powered executive twin-engined aircraft, capable of transporting a pilot and five passengers with reasonable comfort on intercity and interstate trips, designed and produced on a large scale in the United States from the 1970s onwards by Piper Aircraft. , whose successive improvements resulted in the current version (still produced) – Seneca V Turbo.

The Seneca II was the manufacturer's response to customer complaints of handling problems with the first version. The aircraft was certified on July 18, 1974 and released as a 1975 model. The new model incorporated changes to the aircraft's ground controls, more elongated and balanced ailerons, and the addition of an "anti-servo" on the rudder. The “T” in the new model designation reflects a switch to a turbocharged engine, six-cylinder Continental TSIO-360E or EB for improved performance, particularly above 5,000 meters in altitude. In the Seneca II, Piper retained the counter-rotating engines of its older brother Seneca I.
